Mold is organic, naturally occurring, and is all around us. However, inside the home it can make life harder for those with allergies or asthma. The first methods to alleviate symptoms start with cleanliness inside the home by vacuuming carpets, sweeping up dust and changing the air filter on the AC unit regularly.
Typical Mold inspection and remediation process:
- Initial inspection with a possible combination of indoor and outdoor air samples, swab samples, and tape samples. A written report from Castle Home Inspections along with the lab analysis is then created for you.
If mold is present AND remediation is recommended or required,
- A Mold Remediation Plan and a Mold Remediation Protocol is written that will describe the type of remediation procedures to be used along with post remediation clearance criteria. You will then need choose a licensed mold contractor of your choosing.
After the mold is removed but BEFORE the rebuild process starts,
- Final inspection with air sample testing with written report and lab analysis. If results are satisfactory and meet the clearance criteria, a Texas Department of Insurance Certificate of Mold Damage Remediation is issued from the mold remediation contractor and Castle Home Inspections as the mold assessment consultant.
